Canal in Brentford by cziiki Canal in Brentford by cziiki
This scene appeared when I was cycling over a bridge on a canal. I had no idea where the canal went after it left the road and it was a revelation.

Taken on a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone.

Maybe you should have but I discovered recently the screen glass cover is easily cracked :( a do it yourself repair or a lot of money.

I don't think it's a naked chick. We're certainly in agreement on this one.

What a sad boat to be in such an otherwise happy image! I wonder what the story is behind its abandonment there.

me too. It looks like it floats so it would make a great project for someone

Depending on how much silt might be in that canal, it might not be floating at all!

Ha!
Yeah, but don't those canals get dredged?
Aren't they used a lot?

These canals are from a long time ago and now they are only used for leisure. I saw two kayaks and many cyclists and joggers but not a single coal barge.

Three are some nice bridges where the horses could cross when the towpath changes to the other side.

Oh!
I thought those canals were still used for commerce. Like moving farm products and such.

That's not how it was presented here in the States.
When I learned about the canals back in the day they were alternatives to trucks.

I do lots of pictures... sometimes. I've always got my phone. Though I've only had a smartphone with camera for a few months - before that it was harder to carry a camera ready for snapping the moment.
